Train to Gain

Train to Gain is a government initiative which aims to ‘upskill’ the UK workforce, ensuring people in the workplace possess the skills they need to carry out their work effectively, professionally and safely. Southwark College runs London's largest Train to Gain contract and provides fully-funded level 2 NVQs in Health and Social Care, ITQ, Business Administration, Customer Service and Catering.

"Train to Gain is a a great way to upskill staff, particularly if an employer doesn't have a training budget, because it's fully funded." Sarah Wadling, Train to Gain Contract Manager

Skill Up London has been working with the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability for the last four years. Erika Bowker, Head of Training at RHND talks about how Train to Gain and working with Skill Up London has been a positive experience for RHND and their staff.

Three of the reception staff at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability share their experience of being on the Train to Gain Programme, Carol Orakwue, Frances Annamunthodo and Marzena Buda.
