I was competing against experienced florists and I wasn't expecting a placement. I am excited to have won,” said Saroch who studies Advanced National Certificate in Floristry Level 3. Saroch's design was influenced by the famous Japanese Fashion Designer, Issey Miyake. He said: “Coming from an oriental background, I can relate to Miyake's signature style which contains a lot of fabric pleating. So, I used mikado sticks to create pleating patterns in my floral design”. National Certificate in Floristry Level 2 student, Younghyun designed a scarf inspired by Fashion Consultant Gok Wan, who is known for his colorful sense of style.

And as if these winnings wasn't enough for Southwark College, full-time lecturer Louise Roffey and Carol Campbell, part-time lecturer and owner of Beckenham Flower Studios were also winners at the Chelsea Hub Heat event at New Covent Garden Flower Market.
